Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin Attends the Film Reception Held by the Embassy to Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War

On September 1, 2025, Ambassador Cui Aimin attended the film reception held by the Embassy to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. More than 300 guests, including Swedish friends from various sectors, as well as representatives of overseas Chinese, Chinese enterprises and students in Sweden, joined together to watch the film Dead to Rights. The screening offered a look back at that tumultuous period of history and fostered unity and consensus.

In his remarks, Ambassador Cui emphasized that the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression made an indelible contribution to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and to peace and development of humanity. He noted that the world has entered a new period of turbulence and transformation, and called on all nations to uphold and carry forward a correct historical perspective on WWII, and jointly defend the victorious outcome of WWII and international fairness and justice. He stressed that China stands ready to work together with other countries, including Sweden, to strengthen unity and cooperation, practice multilateralism, jointly meet global challenges, and work together to build a community with a shared future for humanity.

The audience was deeply moved by the film, and many highlighted the importance of remembering history, cherishing peace and deepening cooperation to build a better world.
