On September 3, Ambassador Zhao Weiping, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Namibia, donated a batch of books to the Namibia School of Diplomatic Studies(NSDS) of the University of Namibia (UNAM), including The Governance of China, Xi Jinping: Chinese Modernization and Up and Out of Poverty. Prof. Kenneth Matengu, Vice-Chancellor of UNAM, and Prof. Phanuel Kaapama, Interim Head of NSDS, attended the handover ceremony at UNAM.

In his remarks, Ambassador Zhao said that he hopes these books will help our Namibian friends with deeper understanding of Chinese modernization and China’s poverty alleviation practices, and the Chinese side will continue to strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation with UNAM as well as its diplomatic school.

Prof. Matengu thanked the Chinese Embassy for its long-standing support to the university and noted that the donated books will contribute to a better understanding of China among UNAM faculty and students.
