On September 16, 2025, The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Barbados and UN Women Multi Country Office - Caribbean Co-Host the event "30 Years after Beijing: Women's Rights in the Caribbean" to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Beijing World Conference on Women.

More than 60 participants attended, including H.E. Zheng Bingkai, Ambassador for the People’s Republic of China to Barbados, H.E. Colin Jordan, Minister of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector, H.E. Kirk Humphrey, Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Mr. Simon Springett, Resident Coordinator of United Nations Barbados and OECS, Ms. Isiuwa Iyahen, Head of UN Women Multi-Country Office Caribbean well as members of the diplomatic community and representatives from various sectors of Barbadian society.
Ambassador Zheng highlighted the historic achievements of women’s development in China in the new era, and emphasized that China will once again host a Global Women’s Summit this year, working with all countries to advance the Global Development Initiative and open a new chapter in the promotion of women’s development worldwide.
The participating representatives affirmed the historic contribution of the Fourth World Conference on Women, Beijing 1995 to advancing global gender equality and women’s empowerment, and expressed their expectation that the Global Women’s Summit will inject new momentum into the development of women worldwide.
