On September 19, the Chinese Embassy in Papua New Guinea held the reception marking the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Chinese Ambassador to PNG H.E. Yang Xiaoguang, Prime Minister of PNG Hon. James Marape, Governor for National Capital District Hon. Powes Parkop, Minister for Administrative Service Hon. Richard Masere, as well as about 200 representatives from the PNG government agencies, military and police, diplomatic corps, Chinese companies, and Chinese communities attended the reception.

Ambassador Yang reviewed the remarkable achievements China has made in various fields over the past 76 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China. In conjunction with the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, Ambassador Yang provided an in-depth explanation of the core concepts and profound significance of the Global Governance Initiative. He emphasized that China and PNG should further deepen political mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and enhance people-to-people friendship, so as to continuously enrich the China-PNG Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Prime Minster Marape and Governor Parkop extended warm congratulations on the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. They spoke highly of China's development achievements and expressed gratitude for China's valuable support for PNG's economic and social development. They reaffirmed PNG's firm adherence to the one-China policy and commitment to continuously deepening relations with China for the greater benefit of the two peoples.
