On September 29, the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania hosted a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Chinese Ambassador H.E. Chen Mingjian, Hon. Amb. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Tanzanian Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Lieutenant General Salum Haji Othman, Chief of Staff of Tanzania Peoples’ Defence Forces, Hon. Abdulrahman Kinana, former Vice Chair of CCM, attended the event, together with over 400 people, including members of the Diplomatic Corps and friends from Tanzanian government, CCM, military and all walks of life.
Amb. Chen in her remarks elaborated the glorious achievements of the People's Republic of China over the past 76 years and the latest outcomes of China-Africa and China-Tanzania relations. She stated that China is ready to work with Tanzania to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen cooperation across the board, cement all-weather friendship, actively deliver on the four global initiatives, and contribute to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
Minister Kombo conveyed heartfelt felicitations from Tanzanian President H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan to H.E. President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people. He said that the Tanzania-China relationship has transcended geography and time, and Tanzania will definitely support the one-China policy, further enhance bilateral relations built on mutual trust and cooperation, and deliver for the two peoples.
