On Sept 29th, the Chinese Embassy in Norway held a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Mr.Even Sagebakken, State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, General Ingrid Gjerde, Chief of the Defense Staff of Norway, Mr.Svein Indbjo, Deputy County Governor of Rogaland County, and over 400 guests, including representatives from the diplomatic corps, overseas Chinese community in Norway, attended the reception.

Ambassador Hou Yue stated in her opening remark that under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people are promoting the great cause of building a strong nation and advancing national rejuvenation in all aspects through the Chinese path to modernization, creating opportunities for common prosperity among all nations. President Xi has recently put forward the Global Governance Initiative, further contributing China’s wisdom to strengthening and improving global governance. China stands ready to work with Norway to deepen bilateral relations, and advance toward a community with a shared future for mankind.

Mr. Sagebakken, on behalf of the Norwegian government, extended congratulations and said that Norway and China maintain close high-level interactions and strong momentum in cooperation. Norway is willing to uphold the concept of mutual respect and shared interests to promote friendship between the two countries across oceans and generations.

The guests at the reception also enjoyed a string quartet performance featuring Chinese and Norwegian music.
