On October 14, 2025, Ambassador Cui Aimin held a farewell audience with King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.

Ambassador Cui Aimin conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping to King Carl XVI Gustaf. He reviewed the development of China-Sweden relations in recent years, and noted that China and Sweden enjoy a long history of friendly exchanges, aligned visions for development, complementary industrial strengths and great potential for cooperation. The Chinese side stands ready to continue to strengthen communication and dialogue with the Swedish side to better achieve win-win cooperation.

King Carl XVI Gustaf asked Ambassador Cui Aimin to convey his warm greetings to President Xi Jinping. He reaffirmed Sweden’s commitment to free trade, and expressed that Sweden attaches great importance to the development of its relations with China, and is willing to continue to advance the friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between the two countries.
