On October 31, the handing-over ceremony of China-aid agricultural machinery and equipment to Lesotho was held at the Lema Ha Foso Agricultural Show Ground in Lesotho. H.E. Chinese Ambassador Yang Xiaokun and Hon. Minister of Agriculture Mofosi signed the handing-over certificate on behalf of the two governments. Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Matekane, Hon. Deputy Prime Minister Majara, more than ten cabinet ministers, members of parliament from both houses, government officials at all levels, representatives of voters and media reporters, totaling over 1,300 people, attended the event.

Ambassador Yang Xiaokun delivered a speech, introducing that the 148 pieces of agricultural machinery and equipment handed over this time are the implementation of the new achievements of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. China is willing to share opportunities and seek development with Lesotho, and work together to promote modernization. Ambassador Yang also introduced the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and China's experience in poverty reduction.

Prime Minister Matekane expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese government, emphasizing that this batch of agricultural machinery and equipment will help Lesotho increase agricultural productivity, eliminate hunger and poverty, and promote youth entrepreneurship and employment. Prime Minister Matekane reaffirmed Lesotho's firm support for the one-China principle.
