Chinese Consul General in San Francisco Zhang Jianmin Attends the US–China Engagement Dialogue Symposium

On November 13, Chinese Consul General in San Francisco Zhang Jianmin attended the US–China Engagement Dialogue Symposium at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) upon invitation. He joined UNLV President Chris Heavy, Las Vegas Sands Corporation Chairman Rob Goldstein, President of the US–China Business Council Sean Stein, and Senior Vice President for Asia at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Charles Freeman for the welcome panel discussion. The event brought together over 150 representatives from various sectors.

Consul General Zhang introduced the outcomes of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, elaborated on the important consensus reached between Chinese and U.S. Presidents during their meeting in Busan, and reviewed the enduring friendship between the two peoples.

He called on people from all walks of life in Nevada and across the United States to seize the opportunities presented by China’s upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan, work together to implement what the two presidents agreed upon, expand engagement with China, and write a new chapter of friendship, so as to contribute to the sound, steady and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.

Participants from the U.S. side expressed confidence in China’s development prospects, spoke highly of the leading role of the meeting between the two Presidents in guiding bilateral relations, and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation in education, trade, and other fields to support the improvement and growth of China–U.S. relations.
