On November 19, the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations Office at Vienna and Other International Organizations hosted a seminar on the Global Development Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna. Representatives from international organizations and member states conducted in-depth exchanges on the theme of “Promoting Global Development and Governance on the Vienna Multilateral Platform.”

Ambassador Li Song, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) and Other International Organizations, pointed out that the Global Development Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping are highly aligned with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, contribute to advancing international development cooperation and the reform and improvement of global governance, and have received widespread welcome and positive response from the international community. China is ready to join hands with all parties to implement the initiatives and make new contributions to international peace, common development, and global governance.
Representatives of international organizations and member states spoke highly of the Global Development Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative, expressing readiness to work actively with China in advancing their implementation and to play a greater role in upholding the authority of the United Nations, practicing multilateralism, promoting development cooperation, and strengthening global governance.
