On 25th November 2025, the Chinese Consulate held a round table meeting with commerce & industry representatives from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Senior officials from the KRG Department of Foreign Relations, as well as leaders from the Chambers of Commerce & Industry and the Unions of Importers and Exporters of various provinces, attended the event. 

Consul General Mr. Liu Jun elaborated on the key points and major significance of the “15th Five-Year Plan” adopted at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, stressing that it will provide strategic support and a roadmap for advancing Chinese modernization in all respects. He noted that the Plan will not only ensure China’s sustained and steady development, but also create important opportunities for developing countries, including Iraq. China stands ready to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with all sectors in the Kurdistan Region to achieve common development.

The two sides also held extensive discussions on expanding economic and trade cooperation, promoting investment, conducting human resources training and visa facilitation measures.
