On November 25, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding visited the China-aid Juncao Technology Project and the China-aid Agricultural Technology Demonstration Centre (CATDC) in Zimbabwe.

Ambassador Zhou toured the Juncao planting area, mushroom cultivation zone, and CATDC facilities, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the projects’ progress and outcomes. He emphasized that both the Juncao technology assistance and the CATDC are key projects in China-Zimbabwe agricultural cooperation. In particular, he noted that Juncao technology assistance is effectively promoting local agricultural development and poverty alleviation. He expressed hope that the two projects would continue to strengthen technical trials, demonstrations and promotion efforts, and capacity-building, so as to further expand their socio-economic benefits and make better contributions to building an all-weather China-Zimbabwe community with a shared future.

Juncao is a type of grass used for cultivating mushrooms, producing livestock feed, generating organic fertilizer and helping conserve soil and water. The China-aid Juncao Technology Project in Zimbabwe was officially launched in February 2025. To date, the project has conducted 14 training sessions, established 25 demonstration sites, and cultivated three hectares of Juncao plantations.
