On 19 November, H.E. Mme. Ambassador Jiang Xiaoyan paid a courtesy call to President Marko Bislimoski of Energy Regulatory Commission and exchanged views with the latter to strengthen cooperation in areas such as energy storage, smart grids, and passenger EVs.

H.E. Mme. Ambassador Jiang noted that China is firmly committed to green growth and has become an important promoter of world energy transition. Over the past five years, China added about one quarter of the world's new greened areas, making it the largest and fastest contributor worldwide. China's solar panels and other related products have helped other countries reduce 4.1 billion tons of emissions. Thanks to China, the past decade has witnessed over 60% and 80% reduction for wind and solar power costs respectively in the past 10 years. China has set up the world's largest and the fastest growing sustainable energy system. One out of every three kilowatt-hours electricity consumed in China is green. China leads globally in new energy storage and holds over 40% of related patents. We stand ready to share our expertise and strengthen cooperation with North Macedonia in building clean low-carbon green energy system.
