On 28thNovember, H.E.Ambassador Xiao Jianguo was invited to attend the Celebration of 86th Anniversary of the Hainan Association, Kuala Belait.

Ambassador Xiao extended his warm congratulations, spoke highly of the association for consistently upholding its founding principles of serving local Chinese, fostering solidarity and mutual assistance, promoting Chinese traditional culture, and giving back to society. He noted the Association’s concrete actions to people-to-people exchange and pragmatic cooperations between China and Brunei. He elaborated on the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, stating that the Embassy would actively promote alignment between China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and Brunei's Wawasan 2035, deepening economic cooperation and cultural exchanges to achieve further progress in building a China-Brunei community with a shared future. He also expressed his gratitude to Brunei’s Chinese community for their support of both himself and the Embassy’s work as he prepares to resign and return to China. He expressed confidence that relations between China and Brunei would witness even greater development in the coming year.

The Association’s President Kong Fan Tse extended gratitude to Ambassador Xiao for his care and support for the local Chinese community over the past two years, and affirmed that the Association would continue to uphold traditional Chinese culture and contribute to the development of Brunei-China relations.
