On 9 January 2026, H.E. Mme. Ambassador Jiang Xiaoyan met with Koce Trajanovski, Director of the Public Enterprise for State Roads.

Ambassador Jiang noted that China has built the world's largest integrated transportation network, with over 190,000 kilometers of expressways in operation and more than 50,000 kilometers of high-speed railways, significantly facilitating accessibility, industrial development and rural revitalization. 

She added that Chinese companies have successfully completed the construction of three roads in North Macedonia. As a trustworthy and reliable partner, China encourages more Chinese companies to actively participate in the infrastructure development of North Macedonia and remains ready to work together to make the Kičevo-Ohrid highway a road of connectivity and prosperity.

The two sides agreed to maintain close communication and spare no effort to complete the project on schedule.
