Chinese Ambassador to the Netherlands Shen Bo Presents Letters of Credence to King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands

On January 21, Shen Bo, newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. Following the ceremony, the two sides held a cordial and friendly conversation.

Ambassador Shen first conveyed the warm greetings of President Xi Jinping and Madame Peng Liyuan to King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, and expressed appreciation for the long-standing support of the Royal House of the Netherlands for China–Netherlands relations. Ambassador Shen stated that, as the new Chinese Ambassador to the Netherlands, he stands ready to work together with the Netherlands side, under the strategic guidance of the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, to advance the sound and stable development of the Open and Pragmatic Partnership for Comprehensive Cooperation between China and the Netherlands.

King Willem-Alexander asked Ambassador Shen to convey his and Queen Máxima’s sincere greetings and best wishes to President Xi Jinping and Madame Peng Liyuan. He fondly recalled his previous visits to China and noted that the Netherlands attaches great importance to developing relations with China. The Royal House, he said, is willing to continue making efforts to promote the two countries’ bilateral exchanges and cooperation across various fields.

Ambassador Shen assumed his post on December 9, 2025, and presented a copy of his Letters of Credence to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands on December 10.
