Chinese Embassy in Uganda Hosts a Farewell Reception in Honor of Ambassador Zhang Lizhong and Madam Lin Yaqun

On January 20, the Embassy of China in Uganda hosted a farewell reception in honor of H.E. Ambassador Zhang Lizhong and his wife Madam Lin Yaqun. More than 200 guests attended the reception, including Ugandan government officials and representatives from various sectors, diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations as well as delegates from Chinese institutions and Chinese communities in Uganda.

Ambassador Zhang reviewed the fruitful achievements in the development of China-Uganda relations in recent years and expressed gratitude for the strong support from all sectors in Uganda. He noted that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, political mutual trust between China and Uganda has continued to deepen, practical cooperation has yielded substantial results, and the two peoples have grown closer with vibrant cultural exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations. He expressed confidence that the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Uganda will reach new heights.

Permanent Secretary Bagiire Vincent Waiswa of the Ugandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs spoke highly of Ambassador Zhang’s efforts in advancing bilateral relations during his tenure and thanked China for its contributions to Uganda’s economic and social development. He expressed hope for continued collaboration with China to further enhance the breadth and depth of bilateral relations.

The reception was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere, with attendees bidding farewell to Ambassador Zhang and his spouse and extending their best wishes.
