He encouraged the students to cherish their overseas study experience, keep their homeland close to heart while maintaining a global outlook, integrate their personal aspirations into the great cause of national rejuvenation, and strive to grow into friendly envoys linking China and Ireland, as well as China and the wider world. He also urged them to strengthen awareness of safe and secure overseas study and to write their own inspiring stories in the tide of the times.

The gala featured a rich and diverse programme, including dance performances, vocal music, traditional Chinese instrumental music, recitations and traditional costume displays, which added to the festive, warm and joyful atmosphere of the evening.
