On March 8, 2026, Consul General Fu Lihua visited the Hakka Association of Western Australia. President Suzanne Woo and members of the association’s council were present.

Consul General Fu extended New Year greetings to the Hakka Association of Western Australia and Hakka people and briefed China’s economic and social development achievements and the relations between China and WA during past years. She praised the association for actively integrating into WA society, preserving and promoting Chinese culture with the spirit of valuing education and maintaining strong patriotism and attachment to hometowns, and making great contributions to the multiculturalism of WA. She also encouraged Hakka to continue to unite and strive forward, actively promote practical cooperation and people-to-people links between China and WA, and support the China’s rejuvenation and its complete reunification.
President Woo and others stated that they will further root themselves in the Chinese community, unite and serve Hakka people, play an active role as a bridge in promoting closer people-to-people ties between China and WA.
