On April 8, the Tanzanian Ministry of Health held a welcome and farewell ceremony for the 27th and 28th China Medical Team. Chinese Ambassador H.E. Chen Mingjian and Permanent Secretary of the Tanzanian Ministry of Health H.E. Dr. Seif Shekalaghe attended the event and made remarks, together with all members of the 27th and 28th China Medical Team.

Ambassador Chen stated that the 27th China Medical Team has treated over 10,000 patients during the past 2 years, making significant contributions to Tanzania's health sector. Dr. Zhang Junqiao, former leader of 27th China Medical Team, heroically sacrificed his life while rescuing a local resident who fell into the sea in June 2025, exemplifying the spirit of China Medical Team. Hope the 28th China Medical Team will continue to dedicate itself to China-Tanzania friendship and the health and well-being of the Tanzanian people. 

Dr. Shekalaghe expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and spoke highly of the contributions made by the China Medical Team in such areas as medical treatment, technical support and training.

The Tanzanian Ministry of Health presented Certificate of Appreciation to all members of the 27th China Medical Team.
