On April 10, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin met with State Secretary Maria Nilsson of the Swedish Ministry of Education and Research. The two sides held in-depth discussions on advancing practical cooperation in science and technology (S&T) between China and Sweden. Cui Yuting, Counsellor for Science and Technology Affairs at the Chinese Embassy, attended the meeting.

Ambassador Zhou noted that science and technology cooperation is a vital component of bilateral relations. The 15th Five-Year Plan outlines China’s commitment to pursuing high-quality development and promoting high-standard opening up, therefore creating new horizons for mutually beneficial cooperation. It presents to the world a blueprint for China’s development over the next five years and further solidifies the foundation for bilateral cooperation with steady and positive momentum. China welcomes Sweden to work together in building a bright future through innovation-driven development.
Ms. Nilsson highly commended the remarkable achievements of China’s rapid scientific and technological development. She noted that advanced scientific and technological innovation cannot be achieved without international cooperation, and expressed her readiness to further promote policy dialogue and personnel exchanges between Sweden and China in the fields of science and technology, in order to better realize the shared vision of utilizing technological innovation for the benefit of social development.
