On April 20, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in North Macedonia, together with the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, co-hosted an “International Chinese Language Day” celebration in Štip. Officials from the Ministry of Education and Science of North Macedonia and the Štip municipal government attended. Over 200 teachers and students of local schools joined the event.

H.E. Mme. Ambassador Jiang Xiaoyan noted that the Chinese language carries thousands of years of civilization and embodies values of harmony and coexistence. It serves as a bridge for mutual learning among civilizations and a bond that brings people closer together. The growing global interest in Chinese language reflects a two-way engagement between China and the world. China advocates respect for the diversity of civilizations and stands ready to share opportunities with others, work with all parties to implement the Global Civilization Initiative, promote common values of humanity, and jointly build a vibrant, inclusive vision of modernization.
During the event, teachers of the Confucius Institute at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University gave a presentation on the Chinese language and taught paper-cutting on site. Gjoko, a Macedonian citizen from Veles, demonstrated Chinese calligraphy.
