Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Zhou Limin Pays a Courtesy Call on Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard

On April 22, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin paid a courtesy call on Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard and exchanged views on the development of China-Sweden relations and other issues.

Ambassador Zhou expressed his appreciation to the Swedish side for the thoughtful arrangements made for the performance of his duties. He noted that last year marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and that President Xi Jinping and King Carl XVI Gustaf exchanged congratulatory messages. With the joint efforts of both sides, China-Sweden relations have been improving and moving in a positive direction, and practical exchanges and cooperation across various fields have progressed steadily. China stands ready to work with Sweden to continuously enhance mutual understanding, strengthen mutual trust, and advance mutually beneficial cooperation, so as to better benefit both countries and peoples.

Minister Stenergard welcomed Ambassador Zhou on assuming his new post, stating that Sweden attaches importance to developing relations with China and looks forward to further strengthening exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and to promoting the continuous development of bilateral relations.
