Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Zhou Limin Pays a Courtesy Call on Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa

On April 22, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin paid a courtesy call on Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa, and exchanged views on deepening economic and trade cooperation.

Ambassador Zhou stated that over the past 76 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China and Sweden have maintained steady development of bilateral relations and continuously deepened practical cooperation, bringing tangible benefits to the people of both countries. He emphasized that China and Sweden enjoy a solid foundation for cooperation and both support a rules-based multilateral trading system. He expressed the hope that both sides will work in the same direction to jointly create a favorable business environment for the business community, and take China’s 15th Five-Year Plan as an opportunity to promote steady and sustained development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Minister Dousa spoke positively of China’s concrete steps to advance bilateral relations and highly commended China’s firm and unequivocal commitment to supporting free trade. He expressed his willingness to maintain dialogue with China, seek common ground while putting aside differences, and jointly promote the continued progress in bilateral economic and trade relations.
