On May 11, Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen met with a delegation led by Dr. Mirasol B. Tiu, DBA, President of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc.

Consul General Zhao noted that in recent years, economic and trade cooperation between China and the Mindanao region has yielded fruitful results. She highlighted the great potential for bilateral collaboration in areas such as new energy, infrastructure, healthcare, modern agriculture, and the digital economy. The Chinese Consulate General in Davao stands ready to strengthen cooperation with the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and jointly explore ways to boost the confidence of Chinese investors under the current circumstances, promote bilateral economic, trade, and people-to-people exchanges. The Consulate expects the Chamber to leverage its strengths to help cultivate a favorable environment for investment and cooperation.

President Mirasol B. Tiu and other attendees briefed on the upcoming ASEAN Innovation Summit 2026 and the Davao Agri-Trade Expo (DATE)2026 to be held in September. They extended an invitation to Chineseenterprises to participate in these events and pledged the Chamber’s commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in economy, trade, agriculture and tourism.
