Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai Meets with Chairman of Nigerian Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Sani Bello

On May 12, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai met with Chairman of Nigerian Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Sani Bello.

Ambassador Yu stated that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria. Over the past more than half century, bilateral relations have stood the test of time and grown ever stronger. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, China-Nigeria relations have maintained strong momentum and sound development. China is willing to work with Nigeria to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, firmly support each other on issues involving their respective core interests and major concerns, deepen practical cooperation, and promote greater development in the China-Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Bello stated that Nigeria attaches great importance to the development of the Nigeria-China bilateral relations, and that deepening cooperation between Nigeria and China is vital to Nigeria’s future development. Nigeria welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest in the country and expand mutually-beneficial cooperation. Nigeria firmly adheres to the one-China principle and recognizes that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory.
