On May 11, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin held a welcome reception. Over 100 participants, including representatives from Swedish government ministries and various sectors, foreign diplomats accredited to Sweden, as well as representatives of overseas Chinese, Chinese enterprises and Chinese students in Sweden, attended the event. 

Ambassador Zhou stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Sweden, bilateral relations have made marked progress. Last year in particular, the two countries celebrated the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with King Carl XVI Gustaf. High-level mutual visits were more frequent. Practical cooperation across the board yielded fruitful outcomes. As the new Chinese Ambassador to Sweden, he expressed his willingness to work with the Swedish government and people from all sectors of society to usher in a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation in China-Sweden relations, and bring greater benefits to both countries and peoples.

The participants warmly welcomed Ambassador Zhou on his assumption of office. They also watched a video on China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and exchanged views on promoting the steady and sustained development of China-Sweden friendly cooperation. The reception took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.
