On May 8, 2026, Ambassador Zhao Weiping visited the Creative Industry Institute Africa (CIIA) in Windhoek, and exchanged views with the Institute on China-Namibia cooperation in the creative industries.

Ambassador Zhao noted that the Namibian government attaches great importance to the development of creative industries. As an important development partner of Namibia, China stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Namibian side in this field. The Chinese Embassy will further enhance its engagement with CIIA, and provide active support for its development. Ambassador Zhao also welcomed the Institute to participate in activities organized by the Embassy to celebrate the “China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges”.

Mr. Joel Haikali, head of the Institute, thanked Ambassador Zhao for the visit and expressed willingness to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China, learn from China’s experience in cultural and innovation sectors, and contribute to the flourishing growth of Namibia’s creative industries.
