On June 1, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin visited Elekta and held in-depth discussions with the company’s founder Laurent Leksell and Chief Executive Officer Jakob Just-Bomholt on China-Sweden cooperation in the healthcare sector. Ms. Kang Wen, Counselor in charge of economic and commercial affairs of the Embassy, accompanied him on the visit.

Ambassador Zhou highly commended Elekta’s achievements in China in areas such as research and development, manufacturing, talent development, and clinical care. He praised the company for its longstanding contributions to China’s cancer prevention and treatment efforts, as well as to healthcare cooperation and broader economic and trade relations between China and Sweden. He expressed the hope that Elekta would seize the opportunities presented by China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, build on its strengths, deepen cooperation in innovation, and continue to serve as a model for mutually beneficial collaboration.

Mr. Just-Bomholt briefed Ambassador Zhou on the company’s business development and investments in China. He spoke highly of China’s efficiency, quality, and talent pool, noting that China is one of Elekta’s most important strategic markets. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to further expanding its presence in China and continuously enhancing its competitiveness.
