On June 2, Consul General Qin Jie visited and called on  Dr.Sumangala Borkar , the niece of Dr. Kotnis, and her husband. Together, they recalled the vivid scene of her son participating in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and paid tribute to Dr. Kotnis, who 88 years ago joined the China Aid Medical Corps in Mumbai. Mr. Borkar noted that under the care and concern of Prime Minister Modi, the Dr. Kotnis Memorial in Solapur has drawn increasing attention and has become a monument to India-China friendship.
