On June 9, 2026, Chinese Consulate General in Gothenburg and China Cultural Center in Stockholm jointly hosted the “Colorful China” Cultural and Artistic Performance at Kronhuset, a landmark building in Gothenburg. Chinese Consul General in Gothenburg Yang Peidong attended the event and delivered remarks. The event brought together over 200 guests, including representatives from various sectors and overseas Chinese of the consular district.

The guests watched a video address by Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, at the 2026 Event to Celebrate The International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations. Consul General Yang stated that although China and Sweden are thousands of miles apart, the core essences of their civilizations resonate with each other. Dialogue, exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations form the deep foundation of China-Sweden relations. He expressed hope that cultural and people-to-people exchanges will write a new chapter in closer ties between the two peoples.

The Art Troupe of South-Central Minzu University, the Shaanxi Art Troupe, Swedish artists, and members of the local Chinese community jointly presented a series of spectacular performances. Carrying the rich heritage of both Chinese and Swedish cultures, music and dance intertwined and resonated within the historic venue, forging a bridge for exchanges among civilizations, and winning enthusiastic applause from the entire audience.
