On August 29, the Chinese Consulate General in Mumbai, together with Sathaye College and the India China Academy, jointly held the third China-India BRICS Dialogue & Exchange and Chinese Film Screening event. Consul General Qin Jie attended the event and delivered a speech. Nearly 200 teachers and students from the college attended the event and watched the film I Am What I Am.

Mr.Qin said that the BRICS mechanism continues to develop and grow, having become a banner leading Global South cooperation and an important force promoting world peace and development. With the 2026 BRICS Summit set to take place in Delhi, China stands ready to work with all parties to advance the high-quality development of "Greater BRICS Cooperation." The friendship between China and India has a long history, with stories of mutual learning between their civilizations passed down to this day. He expressed hope that the youth of both countries will strengthen communication, deepen mutual understanding, and serve as ambassadors for carrying forward friendship.

Dr. Salvi, Vice Principal of Sathaye College, and Mr. Nishith, Principal of the India China Academy, said that cultural exchange is a vital way to enhance mutual understanding. They expressed their hope to continue strengthening cooperation with the Chinese side in education, culture, and other fields, and wished the upcoming BRICS Summit great success.
