Chinese Ambassador to Ireland Zhao Xiyuan Attends China-Themed Seminar at Trinity College Dublin

On September 2, Ambassador Zhao Xiyuan attended the opening ceremony of a seminar themed “China’s Development Model, Green Transition, and the Changing Global Global Order” hosted by the Centre for Asian Studies at Trinity College Dublin and delivered a keynote address. Professors, scholars, and students from Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork, Dublin City University, University of Galway and University of Kent and other higher education institutions, attended the event.

In his speech, Ambassador Zhao elaborated on China’s development achievements and core philosophy, while sharing his insights and reflections on China-EU relations. He emphasized that in the face of pressing global challenges, China has proposed major global development and governance initiatives, demonstrating its responsibility as a major power through concrete actions. Ambassador Zhao noted that China and the EU are fully capable of translating their deeply interconnected interests into enduring, mutual prosperity, thereby contributing meaningfully to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Participating scholars affirmed that China and the EU are both pivotal forces on the world stage, sharing broad common interests in areas such as green transformation and multilateralism. They expressed expectations for both sides to constructively manage differences, enhance dialogue, and deepen practical cooperation.
