Han Zheng Meets with Chairman of HSBC Group of the U.K. Mark Tucker

On April 2, 2025, Vice President Han Zheng met with Chairman of the HSBC Group of the U.K. Mark Tucker in Beijing.

Han Zheng said that President Xi Jinping met with representatives of the international business community including HSBC last week, highly affirming the positive contributions made by foreign-invested enterprises in China to the reform, opening up, innovation and creation of China, and stressed that China will only open itself ever wider to the outside world. In a world full of uncertainties, China is committed to advancing high-standard opening up and firmly supports multilateralism. The sound and steady development of China-U.K. relations not only benefits both sides, but also provides certainty for the world. Han Zheng expressed the hope that the HSBC Group will continue to tap into the Chinese market and contribute to the development of China-U.K. and China-Europe relations.

Mark Tucker said that President Xi Jinping's meeting with representatives of the international business community sent an important, positive and constructive message about China's continued commitment to high-standard opening up, which has greatly inspired the international business community. He said the HSBC Group has full confidence in the prospects of China's economic development and is willing to promote the long-term, steady and sound development of U.K.-China relations.
