On the afternoon of May 13, 2025, Peng Liyuan, wife of President Xi Jinping, and Rosângela Lula da Silva, wife of the Brazilian President, who is accompanying President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on a state visit to China, visited the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) of China.

The wives of the two heads of state toured the interior architecture of the NCPA and then viewed with great interest an exhibition of the NCPA's achievements titled "Stage of Glory", learning about the NCPA's work in promoting international cultural exchange and promoting art popularization. They stopped from time to time to exchange views. After the visit, Peng Liyuan invited Rosângela Lula da Silva to a performance of excerpts of classic operas, as well as a chorus of Chinese and Brazilian songs, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. Noting that both China and Brazil are major cultural countries, Peng Liyuan said that people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two sides have been active in recent years, and mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries have deepened increasingly.
