On May 24, 2025 local time, at the invitation of President of the Republic of Ecuador Daniel Noboa, President Xi Jinping's special envoy and Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng attended Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa's inauguration in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. On May 23, Daniel Noboa met with Huai Jinpeng at the presidential palace.

Huai Jinpeng conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings and best wishes to Daniel Noboa. Noting that China and Ecuador are good friends and good partners, Huai Jinpeng said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 45 years ago, the two countries have witnessed rapid development in bilateral relations and yielded fruitful results in cooperation across various fields. China has always viewed the development of its relations with Ecuador from a strategic and long-term perspective and is willing to work with Ecuador to implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, advance the China-Ecuador comprehensive strategic partnership to achieve more results, and deliver greater benefits to the two peoples.

Daniel Noboa asked Huai Jinpeng to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to President Xi Jinping and thanked President Xi Jinping for sending a special envoy to attend his inauguration. Daniel Noboa said that Ecuador remains firmly committed to the one-China principle, and that the new government looks eagerly forward to strengthening practical cooperation with China in more areas and continuously deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
