On June 3, 2025, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council Ding Xuexiang had a group meeting in Beijing with foreign representatives attending the Meeting of Finance Ministers and Governors of Central (National) Banks of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States.

Ding Xuexiang said that at the SCO Plus Meeting in Astana in 2024, President Xi Jinping put forward a series of important proposals and major initiatives for jointly building a more promising home of the SCO. This year, under China's chairmanship of the SCO, China is ready to work with all parties to seize this opportunity, prioritize development, strengthen financial cooperation, scale up local currency settlement, develop digital inclusive finance, and actively prepare for the establishment of an SCO development bank to inject strong momentum into the development of regional countries.

Secretary-General of the SCO Nurlan Yermekbayev delivered remarks on behalf of the foreign side, highly commending China's work as the rotating chair of the SCO and expressing willingness to work with China to uphold the Shanghai Spirit and promote regional prosperity and development.
