On June 22, 2025, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning met with President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand Wanmuhamadnoor Matha in Beijing.

Wang Huning noted that in February this year, President Xi Jinping and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who visited China, reached important common understandings on deepening the building of the China-Thailand community with a shared future, further charting the course for the development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Thailand to take the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries as close as one family, consolidate the political, economic and public foundation for the China-Thailand community with a shared future, and bring more benefits to the two peoples. The CPPCC National Committee is ready to contribute to advancing the development of bilateral relations.

Wanmuhamadnoor Matha said the friendship between Thailand and China enjoys a long history, and that it is a popular belief in both countries that Thailand and China are as close as one family. The Thai side supports the series of global initiatives put forth by President Xi Jinping and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in various fields such as the Belt and Road Initiative, economy and trade, and tourism. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China. The National Assembly of Thailand is willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side to promote the common development and prosperity of the two countries.
