On November 12, 2025, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 20th theory seminar between the CPC and the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV).

Xi Jinping noted that China and Viet Nam are good neighbors, good friends, good comrades and good partners, and are a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance. Both the CPC and the CPV uphold and develop Marxism, unswervingly follow the socialist path, and lead their respective countries in the development of socialism, facing many of the same or similar tasks of the times. The two Parties have carried out in-depth exchanges of experience in governance, jointly explored socialist paths towards modernization that suit their national conditions, and worked together to adapt Marxism to their respective context and the needs of the times and promote the development of the World Socialist Movement, constantly writing new chapters of friendship of "comrades and brothers" in the new era.

Xi Jinping emphasized that the theory seminar between the CPC and the CPV is an important platform for exchange and dialogue between the two Parties, playing a positive role in consolidating friendship and mutual trust, enhancing ideological consensus, and advancing the development of China-Viet Nam relations. Xi Jinping expressed the hope that both sides will stay true to the original aspiration, uphold fundamental principles and break new ground, continue to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning on governance experience, carry out in-depth theoretical discussions and academic exchanges, and jointly deepen the understanding of the laws that underlie governance by a communist party, the development of socialism, and the evolution of human society, so as to provide theoretical support for the socialist causes of both countries and the building of the China-Viet Nam community with a shared future, and make their due contributions to the noble cause of human peace and development.

The 20th theory seminar between the CPC and the CPV was held in Ninh Binh, Viet Nam on the same day.
