Recently, President Xi Jinping replied to a letter from young sinologists, encouraging them to serve as messengers to promote mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
Xi Jinping noted that he was delighted to learn of their love for the Chinese language and culture, and appreciated their active role in promoting sinology studies and mutual learning among civilizations.
Xi Jinping emphasized that sinology originates in China but belongs to the world, and it is a common cultural wealth shared by all humanity. He expressed the hope that the young sinologists will continue their companionship with sinology and their journey with China, deepen studies and interpretation, and present a true, multi-dimensional and panoramic view of China to the world. He called on them to serve as messengers to promote mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign civilizations and contribute their wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
The 2025 World Chinese Language Conference is to be held in Beijing from November 14 to 16. Recently, 61 young sinologists from 51 countries invited to the conference wrote a joint letter to President Xi Jinping, sharing their experiences and insights gained through China studies, and expressing their willingness to further their China studies and help bridge civilizations.
