On November 13, 2025, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met with Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan for International Investment and Trade Cooperation Murat Nurtleu in Beijing.
Wang Yi congratulated Murat Nurtleu on assuming the new post, and stated that China and Kazakhstan are good friends and partners with a shared future. President Xi Jinping and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev have met twice this year, providing strategic guidance for the development of bilateral relations and mapping out a blueprint with clear objectives for all-round cooperation. With strong mutual trust between China and Kazakhstan, bilateral relations have withstood various tests and continue to show broad prospects for development and huge potential for cooperation. China is ready to work with Kazakhstan to deepen traditional friendship between the two countries, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, promote cooperation in traditional fields such as energy, green mining, and connectivity, explore cooperation in emerging fields such as nuclear energy and artificial intelligence, and continuously elevate the China-Kazakhstan permanent comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.

Wang Yi noted that China appreciates Kazakhstan's prompt support for the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. The four major global initiatives are important international public goods offered by President Xi Jinping to the world, and they have received growing understanding, support, and recognition. China supports Kazakhstan in playing a more significant role in international and regional affairs, and stands ready to strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan within multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the China-Central Asia mechanism. Wang Yi expressed the hope that Kazakhstan will join the International Organization for Mediation at an early date.
Murat Nurtleu conveyed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's greetings to President Xi Jinping and stated that, under the joint guidance of the two heads of state, Kazakhstan-China relations have reached a new level, with bilateral cooperation advancing at an accelerated speed. The changing international situation increasingly demonstrates the profound strategic insight of the important vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity and the Belt and Road Initiative put forth by President Xi Jinping. After President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Governance Initiative during the SCO Tianjin Summit, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev immediately responded with support. The four major global initiatives provide solutions to address global challenges and are bound to win widespread support from the international community. Kazakhstan is willing to work with China to implement the common understandings reached between the two heads of state, further deepen pragmatic cooperation, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promote the continuous development of the Kazakhstan-China permanent comprehensive strategic partnership.
