
On January 20, 2026, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Beijing.
Wang Huning stated that President Xi Jinping met respectively with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in 2025, providing new strategic guidance for the development of China-Pakistan relations. The year 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. China is ready to work with Pakistan to implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, advance the in-depth and solid development of the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, and accelerate the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era. The National Committee of the CPPCC is willing to make positive contributions to these ends.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that Pakistan firmly adheres to the one-China principle and actively supports the four global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping. Pakistan is willing to deepen cooperation with China in various fields covering the Belt and Road Initiative, economy, trade, and personnel training, and to take all-out measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions in Pakistan. The National Assembly of Pakistan is willing to make unremitting efforts to promote the ironclad friendship between Pakistan and China.
