Wang Yi Meets With Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon of the UN

On September 3, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon of the United Nations (UN).

Wang Yi said the UN is an important outcome of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. The UN will hold a series of summits to mark the 70th anniversary of its foundation. China is willing to enhance cooperation with the UN to promote the success of the summits, so as to contribute to maintaining the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and safeguarding the world peace and development.

Ban Ki-moon expressed that the UN speaks highly of China's contributions to world peace and development and expects that China will play a greater role in addressing various common challenges facing the world.
