On the afternoon of 17 November 2015, Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen gave a joint interview to media at the Press Center of the Chinese Delegation and answered questions on what the FTAAP means to the global economy, what China has done to advance the FTAAP process, and how Hong Kong should get involved in regional cooperation by harnessing its own strengths.
Wang Shouwen said that FTAAP has stood out as a priority issue on the APEC agenda of trade and investment liberalization. All members share the aspiration of concluding a genuinely high-standard, comprehensive, balanced and inclusive free trade agreement in this region. If the Asia-Pacific makes greater progress in trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, it will serve as a good example for other regions and facilitate negotiations within the WTO framework.
Journalists with People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, China National Radio and Phoenix TV attended the joint interview.
