On December 3 local time, President Xi Jinping met with President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya in Johannesburg.

Xi Jinping pointed out that currently China-Kenya comprehensive cooperative partnership featuring equality, mutual trust, mutual benefits and win-win results is taking on strong vigor. The Chinese side stands ready to work with the Kenyan side to comprehensively deepen friendly cooperation in various fields and push China-Kenya relations to new highs. Both sides should consolidate political mutual trust, maintain high-level exchanges, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and implement well major cooperation projects such as railways and special economic zones. Both sides should strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, advance the China-Africa Joint Research Center, the Chinese Culture Center and other projects, and launch cooperation in protection of ecological environment and wildlife. Also, both sides should deepen international collaboration, and reinforce communication and coordination on climate change and other major international and regional issues. The Chinese side supports the Kenyan side to play a greater role in safeguarding regional peace and stability.

Uhuru Kenyatta expressed that at present Kenya-China cooperative partnership has been raised to a new level, and that tangible achievements have been scored in practical cooperation between the two countries. Kenya is willing to, together with China, enhance the docking of development strategies, implement railway and other infrastructure projects in an in-depth way, and promote economic and trade contacts as well as personnel exchanges among the African countries, so as to realize mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between Africa and China.
