On the morning of November 29, 2017 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with President Janos Ader of Hungary at the Sandor Palace in Budapest.
Li Keqiang firstly conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm greetings to President Janos Ader, and expressed that China-Hungary friendship becomes even newer as time goes by. Since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations in October 1949, China and Hungary have always adhered to mutual respect and equal treatment. The political mutual trust has been constantly consolidated while exchanges and cooperation in various areas have been continuously deepened. China-Hungary relations and cooperation development have been constantly elevated to new levels. China is willing to work with Hungary to enhance the docking of development strategies, identify converging points of interests of mutually beneficial cooperation, forge new areas of practical cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and jointly push the "16+1 cooperation" for continuous and new outcomes.
Janos Ader said that Hungary and China have always maintained close exchanges and increasingly deepened friendly cooperation. During this visit, Premier Li Keqiang reached new and important consensus with Hungary on developing bilateral relations and cooperation, achieving positive outcomes. Hungary is willing to work with China to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, intensify communication and coordination on international affairs, and push for the development of bilateral relations and the "16+1 cooperation".
Both sides also exchanged views on the issue of climate change. Li Keqiang pointed out that the Chinese government has actively engaged in promoting and signing the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, and formulated and submitted its Intended Nationally Determined Contributions document to tackle climate change. China will continue carrying out its commitment in the Paris Agreement according to the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, and stands ready to work with related parties, including Hungary, to expand cooperation in environmental protection and promote the international community to enhance cooperation, so as to jointly tackle challenges brought by climate change.
Speaking highly of China's positive measures in energy conservation, emission reduction and ecological environment construction, Janos Ader said that Hungary is willing to learn from China's experience and strengthen cooperation with China in environmental protection.
