Wu Donghe

Member of the Leading Group of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in charge of inspection of discipline

Born in Hebei Province in May 1940, Wu Donghe is a college graduate. From 1966 to 1969, he was a section member of Department of Translation and Interpretation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1969 to 1974, he was section member of the Protocol Department. From 1974 to 1978, he was posted in the Chinese Embassy in Togo as Third Secretary. From 1978 to 1983, he served as Second and First Secretary in the Chinese Embassy in the Democratic Republic of Madagascar. From 1983 to 1989, he was Deputy Director, Director, and Counsellor of the Department of African Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1989 to 1992, he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Niger. From 1992 to 1993, he was Ambassador of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1993 to 1995, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Mali. From 1995 to 1998, he was Director General of the General Office of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1998 to 1999, he was Assistant Foreign Minister. From 1999 to 2001, he was member of the Leading Group of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretary of the Commission of Inspecting Discipline of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2001 to date, he is Ambassador to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
