Chinese Ambassador to PNG Yang Xiaoguang Attends the Open House Day of Chinese Embassy

On July 30, the Chinese Embassy in PNG held the Open House Day event. Chinese Ambassador Yang Xiaoguang attended the event and delivered a speech. Near 200 PNG friends including Member of Parliament, students and representatives from government, academies, and media, attended the event.

Ambassador Yang introduced the long history of Chinese civilization and the significance of the Global Civilization Initiative. He reviewed the great achievements the Communist Party of China has made in leading the Chinese people over the 105 years since its founding, and highlighted the outcomes of cooperation between China and PNG over the 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties. He highly appreciated the PNG government's decision to close down the "Taipei Economic Office in PNG", and expressed China's readiness to deepen cooperation with PNG and jointly write the next 50 years of China-PNG friendship.

During the event, Ambassador Yang awarded prizes to the winners of the "China in My Eyes" painting and video competition held by the Embassy. Artists from Guangdong Province of China performed martial arts, puppetry, magic, and Yue Opera, while students from Butuka Academy performed a Chinese song and dancing, drawing rounds of applause. Guests viewed display panels on Chinese history and culture, and experienced a variety of cultural activities, including Guangzhou enameled porcelain, paper-cutting, embroidery, calligraphy, Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing), lacquered fans, pitch-pot games, and traditional Chinese medicine. The whole event was filled with warmth and friendship.
