On September 21, 2026, H.E. Mr. Zhang Maoming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Nepal paid a courtesy call on Rt. Hon’ble Mr. Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Vice President of Nepal.

Ambassador Zhang stated that after the devastating mudslide-flood disaster on August 26, the Chinese side responded swiftly based on Nepal’s actual needs, urgently provided cash assistance, relief supplies and dispatched experts to assist with the rescue work. We believed that through the joint efforts of the Nepali government and all sectors of society, and with the strong support of friendly nations including China, the disaster-affected areas in Nepal will be able to restore normal production and daily life , and the affected people will be able to rebuild their beautiful homes at an early date.

Vice President Yadav expressed deep condolences for the Chinese victims and extended sincere sympathies to the injured and the bereaved families. Vice President Yadav stated that following the devastating mudslide-flood disaster on August 26, the Chinese side promptly extended valuable assistance to Nepal, providing robust support for its emergency rescue and disaster relief efforts, which fully demonstrates the high level of Nepal-China relations. Nepal looks forward to China’s continued active support for its post-disaster reconstruction and to working together to elevate Nepal-China relations to new heights.
