Recently, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping announced the appointment of the following new Ambassadors in line with decisions adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress:
I. Wei Huaxiang was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, replacing Qi Zhenhong.
II. Wu Guangrong was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Uganda, replacing Zhang Lizhong.
III. Liu Jinsong was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Commonwealth of Australia, replacing Xiao Qian.
IV. Li Chijiang was appointed Deputy Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for Disarmament Affairs, replacing Shen Jian.
